I also tried to get somewhere with a members discount scheme and got nowhere. When cars start hitting plus 20 years (so from now on for the very early ones) then there is a possability of going classic cover with them. Seems to be good rates but a few years to wait for that to happen for most of us. If anyone has a 89 give me a shout and i'll pass on the details to contact and see how you get on.

Have u tried Zurich??? I was quoted €379 in June fully comp on a '99. They are in Galway on 091 567064.

I didn't end up going with them as I was able to pretty much swap insurance from my old car to another.

Be interested to see how you get on.

Hope this helps
Ann

Last year I tried to get a list of members interested in a group-scheme - got some folks to sign up & approached both broker & insurance underwriter directly.... and as per other comments - they weren't interested. Brokers get more commission per individual policy & lose some of that if there's a bulk-buy. Its also difficult to get policy allignment - i.e. wrt renewal dates, which is what the U-W's also like to see, which simplifies rate-setting, admin etc.
Only way to achieve this is thru big-leverage groups numbering in the 1000's....
