After an unexpected sabbatical last week, the crew are back together. Mark laments the professionalism and lack of sexism on the show while we review the Bryan Cranston move Wakefield. Family life is front and center on the show as we move from an exploration of Marriage that might have been a better play, to the effects of autism on dating with Netflix’s Atypical. The Bikies – Is It A Bicycle TV and Film awards 2016

It is Bikies 2016, our annual celebration of the good and the bad of the year past. More accurately it is our annual celebration of betrayal, frustrated ambition and decisions that will live in infamy.

“Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard
Some do it with a bitter look
Some with a flattering word
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword”

Season 11 Episode 08 The Infiltrator, Train to Busan, High Maintenance

Sleep deprived Shona tries vainly to remember why she is so angry with Mark and Steve invents the pronoun drinking game. Drug dealer nearly meets gentleman about town while pondering where to park his bike in High Maintenance. Brian Cranston is a hard-bitten accountant-on-the-edge in Infiltrator. Korean movie Train to Busan poses a tricky question as to whether plot and character development have any place in a zombie movie.

Season 10 Episode 6 Trumbo, Point Break, Horace and Pete

Louis C.K. pulled a fast one on the TV world this week by releasing a no warning show direct from his website. No marketing, no HBO, no Netflix. Horace and Pete tells the story of a bunch of alcoholics in a NY dive-bar for the last hundred years and the family that kept them in tipple. The camp is divided, and in a shocking reveal, Shona realizes that she never really knew Mike at all. Brian Cranston trades tina for typewriters and trambo for Trumbo as he defies the US government to call him Un-American. Patrick Swayze turns in his grave as Point Break demonstrates what happens when you make cool by committee.
