IIAB Season 13 Episode 02 – Hitman’s Bodyguard, Star Trek: Discovery, The Deuce

After a month’s break the gang finally drag themselves to the Is It A Bicycle Complex to record a bumper episode of TV and Film reviews. We talk about dicks, again, this time for American Vandal. Confession Tapes from Netflix has nothing to do with Mike’s weekend. The length of the Deuce has Mark lamenting and fractions, strangely, are hotly debated as we discuss Strike: Cuckoo’s Calling One Third. Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Dark Tower is the closest we get to a Blockbuster, but Netflix puts up cinematic competition with What Happened to Monday? Mark declares it unofficial Star Trek week as we discuss the franchise’s return to tv and the Star Trek inspired comedy The Orville

Season 12 Episode 10 Life, Get Out, Imaginary Mary, The Good Fight

If Ryan Reynolds dies in an airlock and nobody sees him, is he still ridiculously good looking? That’s Life, a bug hunt in space with no cats. Good Wife spinoff Good Fight gets all lawyered up and provokes a row about Tom Cruise’s finest legal movies. Cartoon hybrid Imaginary Mary brings out our nurturing instincts as a woman tired of being alone becomes part of a family using the wisdom of childhood. Cough. Shona is a little rusty on her return and makes the rookie mistake of asking Mike his opinion about the identity politics of horror smash hit Get Out.

Season 10 Episode 7 Deadpool, Making A Murderer, You Me and the Apocalypse, Mustang

Rob Lowe made such an impression in The Grinder that we had to take a look at You, Me and the Apocalypse, telling the story of the last 34 days on earth. Making a Murderer has nearly broken the internet with its cast of uns-avery characters and cliff hanger endings; judgement will be passed this episode. Mustang is a Turkish candidate for best foreign movie Oscar, making the case for marriage as a solution to teen behavioural issues. Ryan Reynolds goes all ninja on the bad guys in Deadpool, a heart warming superhero romance that Jane Austen readers everywhere will love.

Season 3 Episode 22

The final episode of the year, the season and possibly everything, depending how much credence you lend to the Mayan calendar! In fact writing this blurb could be a complete waste of time…….assuming we are all still here and you are still reading, it is time for the first annual Is It A Bicycle Film and TV Awards!
The bicycle crew debate, violently at times, their picks for TV show of the year, Best Movie, best actor and a slew of other less obvious categories like Most Hyped Film in a non-performing role!
No esoteric oscar winners on our list, no bicyclers – we talk about the films and TV we enjoyed the most, because that’s what matters! Listen on for an award show you might actually agree with!
We will be back in the Bicycle studio in 2013 for Season 4, and our next episode isout on the 11th of January – Merry Christmas everyone! (especially Kate Beckinsale, who we really, REALLY like)
